Door locks

A mobile key is a solution that enables authorised devices (staff and guests mobiles and wearables) to access specific secured access points within a property. These solutions (device and door locks) can be powered by various technologies including RFID, Bluetooth, and WiFi depending on the use case. Mobile keys eliminate the need for guests to check-in at the front desk as they come with a mobile or web application, which also, generally, takes care of the administrative processes around check-in. This technology works by generating an encrypted digital key that is sent to guests’ mobile devices which will be configured to work for the length of their stay. Hotel operators, depending on the chosen technology, will be able to make other areas of the property available to guests at specific times and dates (gym, spa, and other outlets), in real-time.

Smart room monitoring

In a hotel, operations are spread across the property and split-up into different departments, shifts and duties making it a challenge for many employees to have an efficient and clear way of communicating with one another. Traditional operations relied on time-consuming handovers,  flip through binders and review backlogs. Staff communication and task management tools have the focus to improve the communication between hotel departments, streamline processes and improve operational efficiency. Furthermore, these tools enable the head of departments and management to control standard operating procedures (SOP’s) at all times.

Staff collaboration tools

Housekeeping Software is similar to staff communication & task management tools but goes a step further. It can be particularly beneficial to hotels with more than 100 rooms. These tools focus on the housekeeping department allowing the housekeeping manager to assign rooms to cleaning staff and monitor the advancement from each one out of a single dashboard. The great advantage is that these tools connect to the hotel’s PMS allowing the housekeeping manager to mark the room as clean in the PMS. When something is broken the housekeeping staff can directly alert the maintenance team and in addition, mark the room as out of service (OOS) in the PMS.
